Michael Stark is an obstetrician and gynecologist who introduced an
evidence-based Cesarean Section, modified the vaginal hysterectomy, and
the natural orifice surgery.
From 1982 to 2000, he served as the director of Misgav Ladach Hospital in
Jerusalem, where he significantly contributed to the advancement of
maternal-fetal medicine.
Between 2001 and 2010, he was Chairman of the Gynecological
Departments at the HELIOS Hospital Group in Germany.
From 2011 to 2013 he was the scientific advisor to the USP Hospital in
Mallorca, Spain.
Between 2012 and 2015, he served as the scientific advisor for the
European surgical robotic system with haptic sensation based in Milan.
From 2016 to 2020, he acted as the scientific consultant for the French
ELSAN Hospital Group.
Prof. Stark is the President of the New European Surgical Academy since
2004, an international organization with members in 64 countries, dedicated
to advancing surgical education and innovation.
Since 2016, he is scientist at the University Hospital “Charité” in Berlin.
In 2011, he was nominated the Medico Del Anno (Doctor of the Year) in
Italy, and is an Honorary Member of the Chinese, French, Polish, Russian,
Serbian-Austrian, Indian and Italian Gynecological Associations. He wrote
over 250 publications, a Cesarean section book and several book chapters.
